The buzzword “responsive” has been floating around the web design world for the past year or so, especially in mobile contexts. It refers to a website that has a very fluid template, which “responds” to the size of the user’s browser by rearranging and resizing the elements to logically fit on the page within a device. Teens are abandoning Facebook! They are flocking to Twitter! Everyday there are more opportunities to give back. The digital revolution has made volunteering more accessible—wherever and whenever. At the same time, the volunteer rate has declined slightly to 26.5% as of September 2012 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
For service organizations, these statistics matter. The organizations that are thriving are the ones who are utilizing digital new digital volunteer opportunities and who make it easy to find their volunteer opportunities online. Read more on AdLibbing.
Big Cat Rescue is an animal sanctuary located in Tampa, Florida devoted to rescuing abused and abandoned wild cats and sheltering those animals deemed unfit to return to the wild. They currently provide a permanent home to over 100 wild cats.
