
At the Ad Council, we are starting to utilize mobile and tablet advertising for some of our nonprofit causes. That’s why I was excited to attend Mobile Media Upfront last Monday and learn all about the mobile platform and what it could mean for social good. Teens are abandoning Facebook! They are flocking to Twitter! If you read the latest headlines inspired by the recent Pew Internet and American Life Project report on teens and social media, you might be reconsidering where to spend your energy and resources trying to reach this audience on social. Everyday there are more opportunities to give back. The digital revolution has made volunteering more accessible—wherever and whenever. At the same time, the volunteer rate has declined slightly to 26.5% as of September 2012 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
